Nyon, Switzerland, 22 July 2025 - The Women’s Leagues Forum was present in Nyon at the headquarters of European Leagues to support the launch of the Women’s European Leagues platform.
The creation of this new group of European women’s leagues aims to facilitate collaboration and coordinated representation at the continental level.
The Women’s Leagues Forum congratulates Fiona McIntyre, Managing Director of the Scottish Women’s Premier League, on her appointment as Chair, as well as the three other members of the new Management Board: Liga F Chair Beatriz Álvarez (ESP), WSL CEO Nikki Doucet (ENG), and Elitfotboll Dam Chair Anders Billström (SWE).
Since November 2023, the Women’s Leagues Forum has been working under the umbrella of the World Leagues Association to foster cooperation between women’s leagues and represent them at the global level.
The creation of a representative platform at the European level will enrich the conversations that are driving the women’s professional game forward with European stakeholders.
Moya Dodd, Secretary to the Board of the Women’s Leagues Forum, said:
“We are delighted to see the women’s leagues in Europe creating a platform to take a greater part in football’s dialogues. The leagues and clubs of Europe are powering the professionalisation of women’s football, with global impacts. We look forward to working together with our colleagues in European Leagues.”
